I know there's a lot of young dudes on this forum, so you probably haven't made this realization yet, but take it from an old (jfl by internet standards) mid-20s year greycel: the most important thing for success in life overall is "EQ" (OK, it's really some combination of EQ and intelligence...). I don't mean the bullshit EQ people talk about... I mean the "real" EQ, ie the ability to actually understand people well, what they want, what makes them tick, etc. There are two types of EQ... the "general" EQ, which basically this forum refers to as being NT. That just means "having good social skills". But there's also another type of EQ that I haven't seen people talk about, which is person-specific EQ... which is basically the ability to understand SPECIFIC PEOPLE (not just "people" in a general sense). From a conversation or brief interaction, you can know A LOT about a person.

Being HTN is the ideal zone that will force you to develop your "EQ" the most. If you're MTN or below, life is hard(er) for obvious reasons jfl. If you're chadlite or above, your looks advantage is so huge that you can get away with having a shit personality.

This is the same thing as how the redpill is kinda the most useful pill to take, regardless of whether it's true or not. Notice how the redpill is most useful when your looks level is closer to average? This is the same principle.

That's not the point. There's a huge difference between "not being a jerk" and "having a high EQ-IQ" that I'm talking about.

For example, if you grow up a nice chad, you're probably going to be super bluepilled about life in general. People have always treated you extremely nicely, and you probably will never realize fully why. You'll be a nice person, but you won't be as smart/insightful/"high EQ" as if you grew up a redpilled HTN. This will make you less effective in other areas of life (eg making money, making friends, developing your own character, etc). Keep in mind that looks fade as you get older.

Whats the best way to develop this EQ?

Whats the best way to develop this EQ?
Good question, honestly I've never really sat down and thought about it fully, but I can list some things off the top of my head:

[general things about a person]
1) there's probably a "natural tendency" towards having this. Doesn't mean you can't develop it, but there's definitely a natural part to it.
2) being smart (smart as in literal IQ) helps. The trope that high IQ = autism is not true at all in most cases
3) being curious about people and about the world
4) having a genuine ability to think from another person's point of view. I don't mean in the emotional sense (ie I don't mean being sappy or being super empathetic, etc). I mean LITERALLY being able to think from another person's point of view. Think of it in the detective trope, or the warlord trope (ie "if I was a criminal (or if I was my enemy) what would I do in this situation?").

[specific practices you can try]
5) practice. Next time you're talking to someone, try to consciously UNDERSTAND them. What are they feeling? what are they thinking about? etc. It shouldn't be too mechanical or you'll turn autistic jfl, and also you'll eventually just start doing this automatically.
6) play games that involve you having to think what another person might be doing or thinking about (eg strategy games, etc)
7) have friends from many different walks of life or that are different archetypes. Have intellectual friends, geeky friends, meathead friends, methhead friends, etc.
8) listen to what everyone says with a really open mind, but criticize it (in your mind... not out loud) to death. (i.e., be always willing to consider, but don't just randomly believe any bullshit you read).

9) if you're a good self-learner / muh inTellECtUal, read/learn : a) psychology, b) higher-level math / logic / physics / philosophy, c) economics, d) evolutionary biology / principles. All of these fields completely change your understanding of the world... I'm not even bullshitting. Eye opening shit. If you're not muh intellectual then dw about this point.

Alright my hands hurt so I'll just stop here jfl

I think I am a really good listener and when im one on one with people I usually just listen? idk how to explain it but my problem is when Im telling a story or something people arent as engaged? also idk why but with females its like much more drastic they love to talk about themselves. I dont just sit there and dont talk but its like I lead with less talking something like 90% them 10% me
