It's too easy, there's no challenge worth taking. No reward that feels appropriate.

There's no mystery anywhere, we just know too much. Probably the worst time to be born tbh, would much rather be living in the caveman eras than repeat this mundane experience. At least back then, the fear of death came with the thrill of living. Now it's just survival by slow decay.

The industrial revolution and it's consequences

Plenty of uncertainty to be felt and obstacles to face. You're simply living a predictable life.

dumbass brainlet take
maybe stop rotting on .org and start pursuing a career, you will learn soon enough how little you actually know
it's your problem that you have no ambition and no curiosity, not a problem of the "modern world"

Today's uncertainty is something you choose, not something you really walk in to. Unless you're clueless.

And you think it ever was different? Do you think Marco Polo 'walked into' his journey?

You have to choose it. Always have.

Not even rotting. I'm in the best uni/career path my country has to offer. Learning more stuff about useless stuff isn't really fulfilling unless you're brainwashed or just motivated to do that

Yh imagine raiding villages rapeing and killing with swords and riding on horseback fuck this world is boring now

He walked to uncharted places, there's none anymore. Too much information

if you're learning "useless stuff" then maybe blame your decisionmaking
also: you just seem unmotivated and depressed, you can work on that or get medication

You can still seek the same feeling. Your life is uncharted. Best times of my life were when I had no idea what the next month would look like.

Mathematics and coding is pretty useless to me, it's too abstract to pull any meaning from. Yeah, but how can I be motivated on stuff like this? It's so useless, learning a new theorem or a new proof. It's just knowledge in the abstract.

But yeah, I've never enjoyed school. Meaningless to me

I guess you can. The bigger mystery is just lost. That I find boring.

I personally don't like maths and coding at all, If I had to study these subjects at uni I would be unmotivated as well.
I study law and there are so many aspects to it and new perspectives to be found. I never get bored of it. You should change your major asap, you will live a miserable live if you stay in a field that doesn't interest you at all.
Actively going to lectures, studying at the library, limiting my internet exposure and attending fraternity-events help me staying on track and keeping me motivated. If you're unmotivated in life in general you should unironically go to therapy, I did so for 2 years and it helped me tremendously with sleeping issues and depression.

I'm already many years deep. So I kinda have to finish this, as I don't wanna start from "scratch."

There really aren't any fields that interests me so I can't even think of switching. But yeah, I'll force myself to attend everything after summer as this year, I did nothing tbh.

Yeah, Idk. I'm always chill, I really don't get sad or anything so it seems pointless. I can't think of anything a therapist could say that would change my outlook in life. I'm kinda chilling just bored

Okay, makes sense.
Regarding therapy: You are describing the symptoms of depression. Depression =/= being sad. Having no drive, no motivation and just "chilling" with no sense of deeper meaning can definitely be depression, even if you wouldn't consider yourself "sad" in the traditional sense. Maybe try a couple of sessions and see how it goes. I once had the same opinion as you regarding therapy but I realized that it can have tremendous effects when done right.
All the best, brotha
