Going from 5'10 to 6 foot is barely a difference statistically, but once you hit that 6'0 barefoot mark, wearing lifts makes you feel exponentially taller because of the steep bell curve in height distribution. You go from top 70th percentile to top 98th with one little insole.

2 inch difference is a LOT regardless of ur base. Nothing magical happens at 6foot mark lifts wise

It literally does for the reasons I described. When you are 5'10 going to 6 ft, you are not making much of a difference statistically. You are still within standard deviation of average, and you wont stand out. But at 6 ft, when you put on 2 inch lifts, you are moving 2 entire standard deviations, making you stand out EXPONENTIALLY more in height than when you did at 6 foot due to statistics. You go from the 3rd tallest guy in every room to the tallest guy in nearly every single room.

This same logic works if you are 5'6 range, lifts can take you from bottom percentile height to just a little below average, which makes a HUGE difference irl

Wearing lifts at any height makes you exponentially taller
It's worth going from 40th percentile to 15th though

Of course the taller you are the rarer you become, but there's depreciating returns past 6'2-6'3, and also the exponential is inverse of the previous as you approach 6,2-6'3.. which means the closer you get the less and less you benefit
So every little matters the shorter you are

5'10 --> 6' > 6' --> 6'2

Ofc, I agree, the boost still matters, but when I use the word exponential im referring to the steep increase in rarity you get at 6 foot to 6'2, whereas the gain you get from 5'7-6'0 is essentially linear. Still matters but you don't feel as jarringly taller as you do when you go from 6'0 to 6'2.

I agree with this, but this doesn't start until 6'2.

5'10 --> 6' > 6' --> 6'2
This is cope. Going from 5'10 to 6 ft still leaves you within 1 standard deviation and you will still feel average. 6'0 to 6'2 pushes you up 2 standard deviations. You become taller than everyone else and the ego boost is intoxicating.

You stand to lose more than what you gain
You're only looking at it from the perspective of better
What about less worse

I mean if ur in let’s say England a pretty average height western country going from 5’10 (50th pt) to 6’0 (85th pt) isn’t that crazy of a jump but noticeable as this is arguably the biggest jump of them all.
hard to explain but yeah I kinda agree with u
