Or how your body confuses day with night.
.
Direct sunlight — 100,000 LUX.
Full moon — 0.1 LUX.
.
Now guess how much light you have at home, in the office, or in the waiting room?
From 100 to 1000 LUX. All.

You literally live in a constant twilight.

You sit during the day — and your body thinks it’s a cloudy evening outside.

Then night comes, and the lamp in the kitchen is as bright as the one in the office.

The result:
— circadian rhythms are disrupted
— metabolism suffers
— hormones don’t know when to wake up
— the brain doesn’t understand when to turn on and off.

You stay indoors all day — and you’re stealing the day from yourself. And at night, you get light that steals the night from you..

The body falls into light‑induced apathy..
You become slow and tired..

What to do?

In the morning — catch direct light..
In the evening — turn off the unnecessary.

Base.

It’s certainly understandable that it’s easier to fall asleep that way—but how do you meet your light exposure requirements?
