Lip cutting hate?

absolute grey question, but "lip-cutting" has been receiving a similar sort of hate (claims of cope) amongst some people in the same way that a lot of people disregqrd bonesmashing. Is cutting your lips actually ineffective? From what I've heard, if you disinfect your mouth + your utensil, everything should work, no?

nah cant mate, barely started at all, been doing it for a week and i see mbe like a mm progress on both sides, sum barely noticeable scarring, js been using a tissue to wipe off blood
