I don't disagree that they are needed and provide value to society, but they are objectively terrible to work in and not something most should aspire toBecause they’re jobs that will always have good demand, especially since artificial intelligence has already started to claim some jobs. They will always be needed
I’m working as an electrician at the moment and it’s not even that bad. I’d much rather this than working in an office all day long. But that’s just my opinion I guessI don't disagree that they are needed and provide value to society, but they are objectively terrible to work in and not something most should aspire to
I'm not sure abt electricians but from my experience plumbers and construction workers (ones that I have interacted with) tend to just have rly shitty jobs with shit overtime, bit of an hyperbole on all trades though I suppose, and the advantage to working in an office is more so that the work is just easy albeit just mind numbing with fairly normal hours (all work is mind numbing though)I’m working as an electrician at the moment and it’s not even that bad. Yeah being an electrician isn’t necessarily hard labour it’s just fiddling with shit really. But I wouldn’t wanna do any of the other trades since they’re just really hard work. I just prefer practical work to the office type tho you knowI'm not sure abt electricians but from my experience plumbers and construction workers (ones that I have interacted with) tend to just have rly shitty jobs with shit overtime, bit of an hyperbole on all trades though I suppose, and the advantage to working in an office is more so that the work is just easy albeit just mind numbing with fairly normal hours (all work is mind numbing though)
We all have our different tastes I suppose, there is fufillment to be found in doing good work but a lot of people (esp me) would rather just get a relatively decent job with not that much work so as to fund our life styles and get on with lifeYeah being an electrician isn’t necessarily hard labour it’s just fiddling with shit really.
