Maybe Im just too much of an IQlet but sometimes it feels hard to distinguish between genuine analyses and just some schizos seeing shit that isnt there jerking each other off
An example would be Ezra Pounds poem "in a station of the metro" and is considered to be one of his most profound and important pieces of a work. The thing is the poem is just two sentences long
Which paints the picture of a bustling station metro in paris. The scene is cool I guess but I can't really fathom why the poem is held in such high regard. Perhaps its just the Neuroticism of lit enjoyers but then again trying to read modernist poetry without the proper background would sort of be like trying to learn differential geometry when you can't count to 3.
