1. Is it true you get approximately 3 inches of height?

2. How long is recovery, I read somewhere a year? I don't care about doing elite sports as I am an oldcel. I will just do light cardio like swimming. Inb4 you won't be able to do running - who wants to fuck their joints over anyway by running muh 100 marathons a year. By recovery I mean where I can walk into da club normally without crutches.

3. Who are the best surgeons for this. I read surgeons in Germany are good? I don't want to go to some dodgy curry doctor.

It would be the lower leg that is sawed not the femur and from my research the recovery is under 6 months not 2 years. I wear lifts already and will wear them whether or not I go through with this procedure.

You didnt even get LL what are you rambeling.
Real LL facts:
Bone infection risk with internal nail is near 0
recovery is 3-6 months (you lengthen 3 months and then it takes until you are fwb so 1 week to 6 months, usally 3 months)
As for walking it differes from person to person but usally takes 1-2 months after fwb to be undectable.
1 month after that you can probably do any sport you want.
Pain: You are under anestisia you idiot while you are doing the surgery
After you get pain meds and have similiar pain then other leg surgerys "undescriblble"
Pain usually stops 2-3 weeks after you got the surgery and only starts again if you lengtehn too quickly (nevere pain)
As for surgeons there is a very good and cheap surgeon in germany (just use google)

I can tell none of this shitty ass greys want to answer but I got you, So leg lengthening aka LL height gain is split into 2 bones the femur and tibia, With femur lengthening you can gain 2.4-3.1 inches with tibia lengthening you can gain anywhere from 2-2.75 inches. Combining these would give you around 4-5.5 inches or 10-14cm in increased height, however I wouldn't recommend getting both due to excruciating recovery time and process. I would recommend you only get femur due to femur being a lot stronger and not as many nerve endings, this would also cut down your recovery time to 6-10 months instead of 12-18 months. So answer to your question yes you could reach 6'5 doing LL and having a mediocre recover, I bet you could even run after if all goes well.
