I'm on a 2015 macbook pro that runs like on the first day I bought it and got every single update since release. When it comes to the long-term value and a non-buggy operating system, Apple is king. The specs aren't impressive but the reliability is.

If ur gonna be a spender and buy a 4k mac, ull be buying a newer model in 2-3 years. Makes no sense to do anything else.

Yeah true, if you‘re going for the top end model you‘re 100% right. They are for editing and rendering 4k video files etc, extreme use cases.

But if you‘re an average user and go for a normal model, let’s say the $2k MBP or an iPad, Apple products are super reliable. More than any other Windows/Android product.

I literally used my iphone 8 from 5 years ago up until a few days ago, and it still never lagged/crashed/and was still fast. Just switched it out because of the battery.

And I even managed to sell it for $150 after 5 years of use. They have unbelievable residual value.

If you‘re smart you buy both of them used 1 year after release, for a huge discount as that‘s where they lose most of their value and than are good to go to use them for 5 years and even sell them for a decent price afterwards.
