Local Monopolies Through SEO?

Whenever i Google for some services online in my small town i almost always go to the first search result

For instance when i Google for " Bicycle mechanic + my town name" i just choose whatever comes up first on Google. This would create a Local Monopoly for that company and enable it to extract all customers from that region, leaving the competition with worse SEO ranking without any customers and revenue. To not become poor the competition now has to close its store and work for the top ranked Company.

With more and more young people, addicted to their phones operating like this i expect this trend to develop even stronger in the future, for all types of local businesses.

You're nearly a decade to late nearly every young entrepreneur noticed this and built Marketing agencies

If your local area is just boomers who aren't internet savvy you could easily outcompete them with SEO but to even start SEO your service based business needs to already be fairly profitable
