Many old forums require and account, it's always more capped than this system and the information won't spread as much to short attention span 14yo
Many people will make and account and never interact but that already happens

I think the best benefit of this will be quality of content, old forums still exist because the user base still found value in it, new users will come and go most of which will leave in the first 6 months or something like that, there are is a known curve to this, most websites will follow this curve.
At the end of the day if the input is trash the outcome will be trash and more and more people will join and leave sooner because the new content doesn't provide any value to them.
