My boyfriend has been telling me for 2 years it’s coming “soon” and we’ve been together for almost 4 years now. In that time frame, my 2 cousins, my only brother, and 3 close friends have gotten engaged or married (all less than 2.5 years of dating their partner). Definitely feeling the fomo.

I know this post has been made a million and one times but GOD I am tired of waiting. It’ll be almost four years and I don’t have any suspicions that it’s happening anytime soon. It makes me angry and jealous when these couples get engaged after a year.

I’m also SO sick of people asking me when I’m getting engaged - I. DONT. KNOW. stop asking me!!! Everyone - my family, coworkers, friends, and on and on.

Yes, we’ve talked about marriage many many times but I also don’t want to go up to him and say “sooooo what’s going on?” Because then there’s a weird pressure and I don’t want that on our relationship.

We’ve lived together for a year now and I thought it would’ve happened by now. Everyone did. I hate the expression “why buy the cow when the milk is free?” but I can’t help feeling that way.

Just annoyed and it’s hitting extra hard today.
