Really just depends on how you react to certain things, for some headgear will work well for a while; and vice versa. You could likely get headgear if your body reacts well to it, and an MSE could slightly help widen the face; but it'll be difficult to make signifigant changes.

There are genuine people that I've seen that don't react to headgear as well as others. I've seen good and poor results during puberty, and an MSE and likely widen the face to an extent if his palette is narrow.

Also, by "reacts well" i'm talking about his stage in puberty. If he's far into it, he may not get the same results a young person in puberty would.
