Long or short hair debate?

I’ve recently just cut my hair and gotten a drop fade on the sides of my hair and not sure if I should’ve kept the grown out sides. Personally I always liked my grown out hair but some others think different. (I look more tanned due to lighting in the second pic and my skins been abit cooked in the last few days)
