Everyone here is obsessed with looks, ratings, canthal tilt, bones, blah blah. I get it, I’m here too for a reason. But sometimes I feel like people forget how weird this whole thing actually is.
We spend hours analyzing tiny details nobody in real life notices. A millimeter here, an angle there, lighting, lenses, mirrors. One bad pic and suddenly someone thinks their life is over. One good pic and ego goes crazy for 10 minutes. It’s a loop.
What’s funny is most “normies” don’t even care about half the stuff we argue about. They just live. They laugh, talk, do dumb things, fail, try again. Meanwhile we’re here calculating jaw width ratios like it’s physics.
Not saying looks don’t matter. They obviously do. Anyone who says they don’t is coping. But looks aren’t everything either, and pretending they are is also coping. The truth is uncomfortable and that’s why people avoid it.
Another thing I noticed: this forum can either motivate you or completely mess you up depending on how you use it. Some people come here, learn basics, improve, then leave and live life. Others refresh all day, compare themselves to strangers, and slowly lose confidence instead of gaining it.
Also, a lot of dudes here aren’t ugly. They’re just young, stressed, sleep-deprived, or mentally cooked from overthinking. But the forum convinces them they’re doomed genetically, which is crazy.
At the end of the day, everyone here wants the same thing: to feel respected, wanted, confident. Looks are just the shortcut people focus on because they’re visible and measurable. But confidence built only on appearance is fragile as hell.
Anyway, just some random thoughts. Not attacking anyone, not preaching. Just wanted to say it out loud. Curious how others see this place: motivation, poison, or both?
