Hello org,
I was semi active in fall of 25, had about 1000 posts mostly related to bs but the main focus today is going to be my skin. Prev acc was gonnabehappy and I deleted it to focus more on academics because I am a stemcel but ik yall don’t gaf so here goes….
I had terrible acne and was an acnecel, face is about average otherwise. I have taken about 9 months total of 20mg accutane/day, and quit for the summer of ‘26 b/c I was working in the country and got lazy w skin. Skin was clear (besides terrible scarring) at start of summer. Skin has mildly regressed since then and I have usually 2-5 active small pimples on my face — much improved from preisotret but still descends my looks severely because I have soft features.
Current plan is either A or B or AB.
A. Take 5-10mg of accutane a day indefinitely. I know from previous experience I will have minimal sides and completely clear skin from this dose.
B. Begin tazarotene. More of a wild card w this.
AB. Do A then begin B simultaneously after 3-4 months.
Besides those plans I have a good skin routine but am looking to improve. I believe my acne is all hormonal and not due to other factors b/c skin cleared up completely on isotret.
Also I am a richcel and my parents feel bad for my scarring so I am planning to consult w this chiller Dr. Qazi and fly out. I will need subcision on forehead and temples but beyond that I am just going to trust his judgement. Read that he’s booked out for months (because he’s almost certainly the best in the USA) so fingers crossed he can put me under the knife sometime in 2027.
Anyways peace and I am looking for advice on my plans. Please vote if you have been through the same or similar situation.
Also I will be starting oral minox and fin this fall because ain’t no way I am going bald w/ all the scarring I have (I have no signs of balding rofl).
