Yes, it's an important factor of attraction.
But it doesn't mean it's the only thing that matters.

but how, why ?
Women don't consider looks depending on their own looks. some ltbs can be CL+ only and htbs can only care that you aren't very ugly (mtn+)
They are never thinking rationnaly about men, this ltb will not think that she is delusionnal
and this htb will not think that she is going to low
As long as you are able to "manipulate" her to "love" you
Of course she won't go for you (assuming you're mtn) at the club, or approach you in the street.
But exposure theory is real, if you spend a lot of time with a woman she will start to feel something towards you.
But you don't want friendship so you must not get into the friendzone, usual advice is to not act as a friend, but this only works if you're attractive.
