If you really think about it, why do we even care so much about how we look? Like, what’s the actual reason? It’s usually because we think looking good will make us happier. We think it’ll get us more attention, more love, more confidence, whatever. Basically, we think it’s the key to feeling better about life.

But if you already have something else in your life that makes you feel happy, then looks kind of stop mattering as much. It’s not that you suddenly think appearance doesn’t exist, you just stop needing it. You’re not relying on it to feel good anymore.

That’s why when people ask that whole “Would you rather be happy and poor, or rich and miserable?” question, I honestly feel like happy and poor is the obvious answer. Like sure, being rich might fix some problems, but if you’re miserable anyway, what’s the point? You can’t buy your way out of being unhappy. But if you’re genuinely happy, even with very little, you already have what most people are chasing their whole lives.

It’s weird how we chase things like money or looks thinking they’ll make us happy, but if you actually find happiness first, everything else becomes optional.

Btw this is all cope

well nobody cares about looks and would never judge anyone based on appearance as long as you're not ugly and short
Most people are ugly or short or both nowadays. Especially ugly due to arisen standards and hypergamy

water

if you have genetics that lead to occasions of you being happy less, or it's harder for you to be happier at baseline, what do you think?

ND/NT? If you are ND and you are more prone to depression, can "seeking happiness" which is technically what we are trying to do even lead them to happiness? it won't lead any results.

well its their fault anyway
Yeah it’s their genes’ fault, something which they didn’t have a say about. Also society’s

yes directly or indirectly it still brings us to genetics and environment, we aren't born with the exact same capabilities so our definitions and limitations on reaching happiness will be different

it's not only about looks, it's also about your genetic capacity

With looks you can be both happy and poor. In fact you can’t even be poor if your good looking (like genuine poverty) unless your low iq.
