I just turned 18 and I already have a Norwood 2 hairline. My hair loss is hereditary because it runs in my family.


I got 0.5 mg dutasteride and I want to start treatment early before my hair loss gets worse.


Has anyone started dutasteride at a similar age? How were your results, how long did it take to see changes, and did you have any side effects?

sure is, but i am 18 and tbh its not that bad currently, my crown still looks good and just my hairline is receding. i will keep it in mind tho

its norwood 3. it is that bad. save up. turkey. stop lying to yourself. atleast your on dutast.

There are more disadvantages right now. 18 is a pretty early age for a hair transplant. Doctors usually recommend waiting until the late 20s or 30s, when the hair loss pattern is more stable. I also just started dutast. Before that, I was using topical finasteride, but now I switched to dutast 0.5 mg pills, so maybe there is still a small chance.
