Lost the only real friend I had

Met her back in school. For 5 years she was my best friend, the person I could message at literally any hour and she’d be there. The kind of friendship you assume just sticks around because you can’t picture it not existing.

Last few months it started cracking and now she just ignores me. Messages left on read, no explanation, nothing. Went from talking every day to not existing to her basically overnight.

Worst part is the silence. It’s not even a fight, she never threw anything in my face just quiet, and I’m left filling in the blanks about what I did wrong. When the one close person you’ve got disappears it leaves a pretty big hole, because now there’s nobody to send the random “yo you won’t believe what happened today” to.
