People do genuinely love. When someone loses feelings for someone after finding someone more attractive or rich it doesn’t mean they didn’t love the person. They did feel genuine love but our brains make us lose attraction for “inferior” people and love superior ones who our brains think can benefit us more, whether it be with superior genes, more money, or more power/status.

This makes total sense to me right now but maybe i’m j fucked up

get rid of the "more money" and "more power/status" parts
neither of those things will make people feel anything close to love towards you.

things like "love at first sight" are just the halo effect, some simple bitch looks at a gl guy and starts imagining all these positive traits for him, and since she's simple she 100% believes those things and convinces herself that she "loves" him for those reasons. Often times those traits that people apply to you will have fuck all to do with how you actually are, for example, everybody has seen a simple bitch talk about a "bad boy" type like he has a secret hidden heart of gold lmfao

money/power just make you a target for golddiggers, no golddigger has ever fallen in love with her mark

you guys overestimate how often this happens though, chads are not out there getting cucked by slightly chaddier chads on any regular basis in the real world
