  • How many mg per day should I take, considering I don't have active acne and only deal with occasional minor breakouts?
  • How many times a day should the dosage be taken?
  • I’ve heard it makes the skin and lips very dry; if that happens, what are the best ways to manage or reverse it?
  • Is there anything specific I should watch out for or be careful about while taking Accutane?

If you can help me, I'd appreciate it in advance :D

im on 10mg a day and have minor but manageable side effects. i wouldnt go anything past that though for me because of me experiencing side effects even at this low dosage.

side effects, drier lips, drier eyes, minor joint pain in fingers only.

i am also on accutane solely for my oily nose

Do you feel the need to use lip balm or eye drops?

im using lip balm with SPF everytime i go outside. at home i use cerave ointment for lips once daily. no need for eye drops, i notice the lips effect more than drier eyes

yeah its the nr 1 treatment for oily nose. thats why im on it, and i am planning to be on it for life. ive only been on it for 2 days, but will do accutane daily untill i used up the 300 pills i have then will try to experient with how much i can get away with in terms of dosaging per week.

i’m currently in month 4 of my accutane cycle and i’m taking 60mg every day

i suggest you just do the full 6 month course to ensure it doesn’t come back even if it is mild, prior to me starting accutane i had semi mild acne and i definitely could’ve gotten away with not taking it (fuck that)

if you aren’t using a dermatologist to prescribe you pills and adjust your dose then start at 10mg for 30 days with one pill every day ramping it up every month

dry skin and lips have been an issue for me but are very easy to mitigate with constantly moisturizing my skin and applying aquaphor to my lips before i go to bed which keeps it buttery smooth

the specific things to look out for is to get monthly or bi monthly blood test results to make sure everything is fine as a precaution (it’s rare for something to be out of line), and don’t drink alcohol cause ur already putting stress on ur liver with accutane

most dermatologists agree that the goal is to have around 120-150mg of accutane per every kg of bodyweight to ensure the best chances of acne not retiring, so calculate that with ai and see how much you need to increase your dosage by every month
