There is a common piece of advice that in order to debloat your face you should drop sodium/salt intake.

This definitely works.

Carbohydrates and salt both work together with the sodium potassium pump at the cellular level to push water into the muscles in your body.

However, dropping your salt intake, I discovered after years of doing low sodium, actually increases your cortisol stress levels, lowers dopamine, as well as alters your entire nervous system, since your nerves literally fire electrical signals using sodium.

Because of this, you absolutely must hit the bare minimum required sodium intake so you can function cognitively, allowing you to make better decisions.

Many of the original users on this site had autism/adhd like myself, which is characterized by a dopamine deficiency, leading you to have executive dysfunction, procrastination, hedonistic tendencies, and more. However, adding a low sodium diet to this will skyrocket your cortisol, make your ADHD symptoms even worse, and cause certain individuals, like myself, to make worse daily decisions.

So, do yourself a favor, keep your sodium intake at a proper level, double your potassium intake 2:1 to sodium, in order to shove the sodium into your muscles directly so the water you do hold is held inside the muscles, not under your skin.
