It’s because of countless years of evolution. I agree there is an evolutionary reason for the desire for fatness on some level but when taken to its extreme, like it often is in modern environments of junk food and morbid obesity, it becomes clearly dysgenic in the same way a desire for salty or sweet food is natural and healthy but the modern environment provides sodium and sugar at levels that lead to disease.

There is no argument that in the modern environment, reproducing with thinner partners is preferable and healthier but that doesn't then altogether eliminate the desire for fatter rounder partners.

The ideal estrogenic silhouette in modern women is focused purely on the sexual organs and doesn't extend beyond that to the point it becomes impractical, ie: overall thin/athletic with large breasts, thin waist and wide hips with large fat deposits.
