Current age : 16.5 , lower palate expansion

I have a pretty narrow lower palate, and I keep seeing people mix things up when talking about it. I couldnt find an equivalent for the lower jaw like an mse
Thought mike mew talked about expansion of upper palate will induce lower palate expansion though am not sure if this will be the case at 16

key point: the mandibular midlinefuses very early. So by this age, true skeletal expansion of the lower jaw is not happening ( thought thickness increases and teeth curvature can be, as i will talk about later)

What people call “lower expansion” in most cases is just tipping the teeth outward to create more width. That can help with crowding and bite to a certain extent, but it’s not actually widening the bone, ( will this help my narrow look)

what do yall think? Is there any significant ortho methods to fix a narrow lower palate without surgery?

realistically at your age with a fused symphysis the only thing actually moving bone down there is surgery (BSSO or genio). everything else is tooth movement dressed up as expansion. if your upper is still responsive to an MSE the indirect lower adaptation is worth pursuing just to maximize what you can before that window closes too, but don't let anyone sell you "lower expansion" as a structural fix because it isn't.
