My Debut Post :soy:

yo, first post on here so don't flame me if i'm wording something wrong lol. i've been looking into lower third development for a while now and i'm trying to actually figure out what is legit vs what is just cope. my main issue is that i have a recessed mandible and overall my lower third looks underdeveloped compared to what i'd ideally want. i'm mainly interested in the actual skeletal side of this rather than just "get leaner" or generic PSL advice. :blackpill:

what i'm trying to understand is what can actually influence the appearance of the mandibular region — mandibular body, ramus, gonion/gonial angle, chin/menton and overall mandibular projection. i'm also interested in how much of the appearance comes from the relationship between the mandible/maxilla and how much comes from the surrounding soft tissue. basically, if someone has a recessed mandible, what are the realistic things they can do to improve the lower third without just coping themselves into believing something is changing when it isn't?

there seems to be a massive amount of cope/denial around this subject, but also a massive amount of bro-science. you see people saying mewing, chewing, hard foods, facial exercises, tongue posture etc. will "grow your jaw", and then other people saying absolutely nothing can ever change. i'm not really convinced either extreme is useful. obviously bone remodeling is a real biological process and mechanical loading can affect bone through mechanotransduction, but that doesn't automatically mean every viral looksmax method is going to restructure an adult mandible. i'd like to know where the actual line is between something physiologically plausible and straight-up cope.

For Refrence
Bony Landmarks of the Mandible Ramus Body Angle

(Do not mind acne lowkey failo cus im blasting reta so my hormones acting up)

i've also seen people discuss more extreme methods for changing the lower third, including things involving deliberate mechanical trauma/bonesmashing, fillers and obviously surgical options. i'm not down for surgery, deliberate facial trauma, or other irrational/invasive methods, so i'm not asking for a protocol on any of that. i'm more interested in understanding whether there is any legitimate non-invasive route to improving the visual appearance of a recessed mandible, and what kind of changes are actually realistic. if something is non-working, i'd rather someone just say it's cope instead of giving me some generic answer.

i'll add a photo below this for reference. i'm mainly wondering what people think is actually responsible for my lower-third appearance — mandibular recession itself, chin projection, ramus height, gonial angle, mandibular body length, soft tissue, or some combination of everything. i'm also interested in whether anyone has actually studied this from an anatomical/orthodontic perspective rather than just repeating stuff they've heard on here.

not trying to claim i know the answer already either. i'm genuinely asking because there seems to be a lot of disagreement about this and i'd rather hear arguments based on anatomy and evidence than just "this is impossible" / "this definitely works". if there are methods i've missed that aren't surgical or regarded as obvious cope, lmk.:feelswhy:

Is It Over :feelswah:?!

u just gonna cause nerve damage and asymmetry just get implants when ur older ur bone structure is not developed aswell
I am hitting the bone with medium and soft hits and hitting the less developed side more. 4 sets of 50

I am 15, I am doing bonesmashing to widen my jaw by hitting on the jaw corners.
Im around the same age as you but at ur age bro bs is lowkey risky jfl 😂, the guy who replied to ur thread is right u can risk nerve damage even with soft to medium hits, im not totally against bs because i have definitely done it to increase my zygos exponentially but def not worth it around mandilla area unless your taking proper precautions, thien for example

I got almost the same side profile, just the chin more forward projected and the nose is slightly upturned and small from the side.

Bottom pic more sufficient anyway you can see proper full side profile, i can assure you top pic looks just as it is
That's not a proper side profile you just took the best angle possible to look the least recessed
If you look closely and tilt your head you can still tell your chin is still mms behind your lower lip and you're still recessed
So no all of this is cope, people get jaw surgery for a reason
Frnkfurt plane

Here is an ACTUAL side profile, post that then we can talk...
