Subconsciously, I didnt realize it at the time, but ever since my first heartbreak, I dont think ill ever be the same.
l've been questioning lately if im even capable of loving someone the way I did back when I was naive. Ignorance was bliss in a way.
Since learning how the world actually works, I genuinely don't know if I can fall in love again. Its not that I haven't dated, its just that every relationship now lacks vulnerability because I know the consequences. I know the risk of cheating, the risk of opening up, of giving someone the "ick." And without vulnerability, there is no trust, and without trust there is no space for love
Im not heartbroken over my ex anymore. I dont even think about her. Its more that my entire outlook on life was permanently altered.
It’s like that unnoticeable threshold when you stop crying after puberty. You don't notice the exact day it happens. You just look back years later and realize you haven't cried the way you did as a child. It’s been years now, and I haven't loved again.
