Finally there's some clarity on this matter. It will not be an annual fee but one time fee for new applicants thag will apply from next year and people outside of the country, don't have to rush to escape payment and the ones that already have H1Bs can travel outside the country without restriction that nigga that did operation clog the toilet on 4chan just wasted his time @User28823
I've talked to a few of my friends working in Big Tech and their managers have sent out internal memos to them ,they are not going anywhere they are ready to pay the $100K regardless of it is being one time cost or recurring one, because their entire teams are made of H1Bs and a few millions isn't a big deal for them but there are talks of making h1bs sign 4-5 year contracts to retain them for as long as possible since they are making an upfront payment.
And regarding my company my boss had a meeting with executives and shareholders yesterday and has made it clear that all core teams will sent off shore, made remote with only a lean teams present in the US positively by next February so no one is losing any jobs including me. My boss kept hinting at this dor months before but now this is a priority.
The only people who seem to be danger are mid tier startups and low level companies that cannot afford the fees. This is how it stands right now. So no you still have to compete with the H1Bs for the top of the top MAANG level jobs it's only easier for Americancels to get entry level and mid level jobs in cash strapped startups and other companies with low overheads.
