Finally there's some clarity on this matter. It will not be an annual fee but one time fee for new applicants thag will apply from next year and people outside of the country, don't have to rush to escape payment and the ones that already have H1Bs can travel outside the country without restriction that nigga that did operation clog the toilet on 4chan just wasted his time @User28823

I've talked to a few of my friends working in Big Tech and their managers have sent out internal memos to them ,they are not going anywhere they are ready to pay the $100K regardless of it is being one time cost or recurring one, because their entire teams are made of H1Bs and a few millions isn't a big deal for them but there are talks of making h1bs sign 4-5 year contracts to retain them for as long as possible since they are making an upfront payment.

And regarding my company my boss had a meeting with executives and shareholders yesterday and has made it clear that all core teams will sent off shore, made remote with only a lean teams present in the US positively by next February so no one is losing any jobs including me. My boss kept hinting at this dor months before but now this is a priority.

The only people who seem to be danger are mid tier startups and low level companies that cannot afford the fees. This is how it stands right now. So no you still have to compete with the H1Bs for the top of the top MAANG level jobs it's only easier for Americancels to get entry level and mid level jobs in cash strapped startups and other companies with low overheads.

idk what to make of the situation tbh.

Having less H1B's hired not only in Tech may actually be more detrimental to the US, and more beneficial for where the H1Bs are coming from (India e.g.).

So employers are saying they're willing to pay 100k per year for each H1B employee? If that solves everything then that's not so bad I guess. I never had to pay out of pocket to grease palms in China in order to push fake paperwork through so I could obtain a legit work visa. And all the times when I wasn't in a work visa my company payed for my bimonthly trips to Hong Kong.

Yes in big Tech companies they are ready to pay. These companies make billions of dollars every year. Paying 15-20 million dollars to retain their workers is like a slap on the wrist for them

I hope you're able to secure what you had planned. You got a rare skill people need and you'll be good whatever the case. I have a friend from Nepal who's on a greencard. His plan is when his wife gets over here and they both obtain us citizenship then go back to Nepal and somehow capitalize on his duel nationality which Nepal recently allowed. You're probably fixing on making big money here though. I wouldn't want to live in USA forever if I'm not gonna be above middle class. And I don't really want to be above middle class if I don't have to be. USA's just not for me.

Yeah H1B doesn't guarantee Green Card which is another struggle it's really difficult to get US citizenship now and with the US government pulling stunts it is not viable either. I am also glad I had prepared myself for a rainy day and kept applying for other jobs and didn't settle in. I don't want to settle in the US. Just planning to make money and go back home for an early retirement tbh

Idk why India insists on sending the best abroad, even if remittances exist. The cons here definitely outweigh the pros of doing so. They need to make it harder for the highly skilled to actually go abroad as in China, needs to more retention

Very good plan.

I'm glad my wife got citizenship last November. I've heard they updated the test and made it much harder since. we noticed over the three interviews that they scrutinized Asian and Mexicans more but kind of rolled out the red carpet for all the Arabs. My wife was the only person who had to wait for a decision after the final interview when everyone else was told congratulations. We were informed by email the next day. She's got an American passport now and has formally relinquish her Chinese citizenship so I'm very pleased.

Right after we file our taxes in February we'll be making an appointment with the Russian embassy in Houston to apply for residency. We've got all the documents, apostilles, and translations ready with enough money to buy an apartment right off the bat in the city we're fixing to settle in. Our boy will be a native speaker of English, Chinese and Russian. If things still stand in the Duma the way they are we'll be able to keep our US citizenship once we're naturalized imas citizens of the Russian federation. My kid will have a lot of opportunities. He can come back to the US and do something big if he wants after he comes of age.

Do they not have a single ounce of nationalism lol of making the country better? India as a country has a lot of potential tbh, but if it continues in the manner it does it's gonna keep sinking, really need to start using China as a example here

Are there companies founded in India (not by Indians abroad) that Indians exclusively use over foreign "born" companies?

An example of such a company I find interesting is WeChat. For context, it was founded in China under Tencent, essentially a chain of multinational companies, which is doing quite mog right now especially in AI. I would assume they solely use the app there as opposed to Whatsapp or similar apps, but interestingly enough it's commonly used in other countries as well by Chinese like the States from what I've noticed.

The first one that came to my mind is Paytm it started as a mobile wallet/recharge app and for years it was the default for Indians before as usually Indian greedy got to it Google Pay and PhonePe got huge Another is PhonePe itself which is owned by Walmart now but was born in India and became the go to for UPI payments. Zomato (food delivery) is another one I can think. Indians always use it instead of Uber Eats or DoorDash.

The big difference from WeChat though is that India never fully walled off from foreign apps WhatsApp, Amazon, YouTube, Insta etcball dominate in curryland In China WeChat became everything (messaging, payments, social, shopping) partly because the government pushed foreign competitors out in India llocal companies have built dominance in certain verticals but they coexist with foreign born ones instead of replacing them @Chadeep

India Should've built a Social Media Firewall like China. But as a Democratic Nation it can't.

Did China always have this "firewall" from the rest of the world? Firstly the media that comes out of course, I'm sure it's carefully monitored and "bad media" that labels China negatively is filtered out and only the positives come out to the rest of the world (unlike India, where a lot of the media turns out to be negative of course). And this firewall you mention of solely using products made in China, an obvious thing to do (quite nontrivial) but smart.

On the first point, from what I've heard the media wasn't always stellar, as in there were recurring "stereotypes" that were prominent not long ago (2000s). You don't hear much about them anymore. Also with the whole COVID situation which was only 5 years ago - imagine if there wasn't this firewall at all, think about how negatively that wouldve painted China.

Yeah good point - if it has to progress though I see no better option of having such a firewall though even if it's democratic

She's fluent but I wouldn't say proficient. Grammar's fucked up cause she's lazy about it. She doesn't have a thick accent or anything like a Korean or Cantonese speaker. She dresses modestly with no piercings and never wears any makeup, or jewelry besides a watch and wedding ring. Never painted her nails in her life. She's courteous and obedient in public.

I've always found Asians most attractive so it's always worked for me.

I've had sex with white girls before getting married but I don't think I've fapped to porn featuring them since like 10'th grade, simply because in my mind they're so much hotter and there's just so much Jap porn.
