Magnesium is one of the most beneficial things to supplement since it's difficult to get through food + responsible for so many processes in the body.

1. If you're taking magnesium and it isn't magnesium glycinate, throw it away and buy magnesium glycinate. Magnesium glycinate is the most absorbed form of magnesium and it also doesn't give laxative side effects like other forms do. The only other form that's good is L-threonate, which may be even better, but it's expensive and idk as much about it as I do glycinate.

2. Most people don't know the difference between elemental magnesium and the magnesium that they think they're getting. When you supplement magnesium glycinate, you're getting magnesium and glycine. Most of the pill is taken up by the glycine. On average, magnesium is only 14% of the total dosage of the pill. My magnesium glycinate is 400 mg, but only 60 mg elemental magnesium which is what actually matters. I take 2 pills in the morning and 2 at night so I can combat daytime anxiety and also get the sleep benefits. That's 800 mg magnesium glycinate in the morning and 800 mg 90 minutes before bed. Really, that's only 120 mg magnesium in the morning and 120 mg at night. The daily value for magnesium is 420 mg so I'm only barely breaking half way of the total with FOUR pills.

Magnesium is pretty difficult to get, but it's so worth it. Check your bottle and see what you're working with. If you don't have magnesium... get it.
