Thinking that mainstream media lied to men is a simple cope.
Mainstream media panders to different audiences giving them different products.
Men want to feel like they can earn love and affection, women want to feel like they are the center of the world, we just had to take a look at where women put their money in.
Don't believe me? Let's take a look at some of the women's favorite movies:
1) Titanic: Becky is going to marry rich Chad but she is depressed because he doesn't meet her standards. She meets broke GigaChad and she cheats on her future husband with him. The cruise sinks, GigaChad dies, she gets married, has kids but at the end of the movie when she dies she goes to heaven where she sees GigaChad again.
2) Twilight: Becky goes to school where she meets shy Chad. She learns he is a vampire and she wants to tame him. Then she meets Chadlite lycanthrope. Chad and Chadlite fight to get Becky. She chooses Chad, he makes her a vampire and has a baby with her, making her "evolve" into a new species (vampire)
3) Meeting Joe Black: Stacylite meets Chad. Shortly after Chad dies, but death for some reason takes his body. They meet again, Chad (who is possesed by death) doesn't know anything. Stacylite teaches him how to fuck, gives him a job and so on. They fall in love. Death leaves Chad's body and Chad becomes himself again. He doesn't have any memory of what happened between him and Becky during all that time because it was death who was living through his body. Stacy doesn't give a fuck and continues to stay with him.
4) 50 Shades of Grey: Becky interviews rich statusmaxxed Chad. For some unknown reason he falls in love with her. He makes her sign some sort of contract where he can abuse her and make her do BDSM stuff. Becky loves it. Becky has an orbiter who is a nice guy but doesn't look as good as Chad. She never takes him seriously. She ends up marrying rich statusmaxxed Chad.
As you can see it was very obvious how personality doesn't matter and it's all about looks. Media made it very clear, we simply were in denial because we had this bad habit of believing what women say.
