I agree but usually the increased proliferation rate counteracts this, imo the issue was likely that they depleted the stem cells in a young age and then didnt bother going through with gh therapy when the stem cell pool was lower than in normal kids and wouldve needed 'help'
regardless its ISS so quite irrelevant for us all but still interesting to see
