Lack of an extended family is a major cause of poor social development and emotional problems. When you grow up with just a mother and father there is a huge strain put on your family and a large amount of outsourcing that goes into raising you. The result is very poor socialization. You do not develop good social skills and get a "mean world" complex as you feel like you do not have enough people you can really trust. Kids coming from this family dynamic are often very selfish, socially awkward and emotionally troubled. They cannot form relationships and lack a sense of real integrity.

The strain on the parents is also insane. They have to provide ridiculous amounts of money to take care of you. When a relationship in your family goes bad everything collapses and the kids suffer horribly. A nuclear family cultural dynamic is also a major cause of inceldom. Women will only marry very succesful men because they know there will only be one major provider. It also increases likelyhood of divorce and infidelity. Since women are pretty much forced to stay at home to raise kids they become really socially isolated and unhappy.

went to school in the bronx, this is very true those latinos, are very famaily oriented, they will have like 8 people living in a big house, with different cousins and family visiting on the weekends. So if a crisis happens the whole family is not burdened. uncle carlos gets into car accident the bills will still be payed.

I grew up kinda isolated because my parents and I immigrated to the country. We have no other relatives here so we’re extremely close. To the point where we’ve always been each other’s best friends and I didn’t want to be away from them by spending time with other people.

families and friends were more connected years ago, not today thou. The reason is simple the advancement in technology, allows people to interact with other people and link up with people they like. So naturally their not forced to adapt and bond and become closer with friends and family they already have. And with the sibling thing alot of times, drama from the past and how people were treated due to the social rank in the family effects things. Meaning if a person is low social rank in their family, they will avoid being around them, the family is upset, why won't johnny just accept hes low rank for the good of the family. This is in turns makes the overall family unit weaker. You guys see it, were family members treat their friends and others with more value and respect then their own family.
