When you buy a dermapen, you will usually get multiple option of amount of needles

Like this, but actually only 16, maybe 24 is effective, otherwise it's not very effective, because skin is elastic and the needles won't go thru it

Btw. This is after my experience with 30 something needles, it didn't go thru skín, but 16 or something like that went very good

I did try to go Up to 2mm depth with 30 needles, nothing, while if someone used 1.25 MM on normal microneedling, it's hurting with 1mm+

I'd say it's fine, just set it to the highest speed and 0.5-1mm (for beard) and be longer on 1 place, move slowly from side to side, Up to bottom, slowly to not damage skín by dragging it
