The social aspect with coworkers is more daunting than actually doing whatever work I would end up doing

It's exactly like this.

Normie: So, do you go to uni?

me: Yeah

normie: What are you studying

Me: accounting, you?

Normie: I'm working right now.

*20 seconds of silence

Me: So... what do you enjoy doing?

normie: I like basket ball.

I quickly find that most normies end up being silent and I have to carry the conversation.

Funnily enough. It's usually the white ones that are like this. The few curries I know can actually speak.

Will you NT maxx?

I can't believe how non NT zoomers are. I'm at uni three days a week and every person is just sitting like an abused dog. I've managed to befriend this nepal guy in my class and I talk to my classmates as much as I can but everyone is just quiet dogs.

The only people I've encountered that did actually speak was this oldcel woman and this autistic dude.:feelskek:

That's the ideal scenario where I became NT. I can talk around people I've known for a while and like but that's all. Gonna get some propranolol/try out anxiety drugs and a couple of people who I'm in good standings with from highschool will let me tag to town/parties so I can hopefully practise for when I enter uni

how do you get over this? Surely with enough exposure itll stop being daunting.

I'm actually so sick of how my lack of NTness gives me social anxiety. It's stopped me from achieving in so many areas because dealing with people's weird looks/negative reactions to my talking style makes me want to be a hermit gamer.

I'm studying medicine right now and literally reconsidering it purely because dealing with people is too draining, but i have faith i can overcome this with years of exposure; @Xangsane has actual autism and is a doctor

anti anxiety drugs I guess, I'll probably gain knowledge of interests guys have so I could make small talk to some extent. MMA and cars is all I can think of tho

won't really work as a long term solution. Anyway since i saw u mention propranolol. I take it a couple times a week before social situations and rate it highly, altho it doesnt do shit for alot of people

It's your fault as well dum dum.

Ofc you are gonna talk like that if you hardly know each other.

One hour into a conversation with my co-workers and we start discussing inbreeding and other fun topics. Mind you, these are late 20's women.

I don't really ask questions like that but I have a hard time answering them because I'm a fucked up rotter

Doing a little admin rn.

Dealing with people can be extremely draining for me too, and I've chosen a speciality which can allow me to focus on a small group of people at a time and would be able to grow with them.

In the MBTI, are you an IXTX or IXFX type? I'm the latter and this makes a slight difference in how you interact with others.

Ive not even considered specialties. Dont think that far ahead these days tbh. Kind of just wound up in medicine without it being my passion or anything. I was a basement dweller before medicine whereas now im interacting with people regularly so we shall see if I'm able to become less drained by people in a few years (currently first year)

INFJ here. I think you should be okay if you think about your specialities and what you would like to do.

Wanna talk about it on DMs?

It’s even harder after college when you are expected to have mature things to discuss. As with dating, if it’s a woman I bring the conversation back to her, as women usually love going on about themselves. I struggle more talking to normie men especially if they’re soy and don’t share the few nt interests I have

Sent. It's very draining having to talk to loads of people so I'm choosing specialities that just focus on small group and peaceful settings.

i have autism
so coworker would try to start smalltalk like "how are you?" and i legit thought hes serioius, like i would ask myself, do i look sick or some shit?
so i would just go "yeah, im fine" and walk away. Only later on i overheard a normie bitch come in and he said "how r u" and they had entire conversation after that KEK.
