If I’m in the army for 7 years and they 20,000 a year and I saved up absolutely all my money how much money could I make after tax if before tax I make 140,000

why specifically 7 years? contracts are usually 4 or 6 for enlisted

anyways, you’ll get pay increases when promoted

assuming you’re going enlisted, don’t sign a 6 year unless your job requires it. you could do a 4 year contract then get a reenlistment bonus of atleast $25,000 for an additional two years. there’s a lack of retention and recruitment so they’re paying more for you to stay in

don’t do tsp it’s cucked. set it to 0% and invest all the money you save into s&p index funds and you’ll come out with atleast $150,000
