In many Romance languages, including Portugeuse, the first person object pronoun associated with their respective verbs for to explain is direct, not indirect, whereas in English it is indirect.@slop slinger what causes this omission of the preposition "to" by esl's when asking people to explain something to them. i.e. in Portugeuse it is "me explique."
This is likely the source of their failure to account for the fact the first person object pronoun must be indirect when used with the verb to explain.
