Sulfuric Acid Caused Catastrophic Damage to Throat and Chest Tissue, Mouth Also Burned
These are a set of classics allegedly showing the aftermath of suicide by ingesting sulfuric acid. Of all the possible means to kill oneself, swallowing highly caustic substance that painfully corrodes your internal tissue and organs has got to be one of the most painful.
The pics are from a morgue during the autopsy on the victim. According to a study published in The Journal of Trauma, Injury, Infection, and Critical Care; May 2011, Volume 70; Issue 5, a lethal dose is between one table spoon to half an ounce. Seems this fellow ingested quite a bit more than that. Sulfuric acid is found in car batteries, and is widely used in chemical laboratories, agriculture, jewellery, and electrical industry.
