i started looking into signs of underdevelopment like crowded teeth trouble breathing and wrong bite alignment and realized my lower jaw might be underdeveloped. the best part is i’m still growing so my facial bones haven’t fully fused yet which means there’s real potential to guide my mandible forward and help it grow properly. i’m planning to book an orthodontist appointment soon to get this checked out.

here’s what i found out functional appliances like herbst or twin block gently guide the lower jaw forward while bones are still growing helping them remodel and catch up. avoiding extractions where possible fixes crowding by widening the dental arch instead which keeps teeth forward and supports a stronger more defined lower face. pulling teeth too early can actually pull front teeth backward and limit forward growth which makes the chin look more recessed than before.

since my bones are still open and growing this is literally the best time to address it. i’m hopeful i can actually correct this while i still can. wish me luck and if anyone’s been through this or knows more i’d love to hear your thoughts

and don't spam any DNR or deregatory shit
thank you!
