Marpe and braces

Should I ask my ortodhontist for marpe and do I have a narrow palate? My intermolar width is 36 mm and my tounge can't fit comfortably. I have a recessed chin

assuming those teeth at the back are you're wisdom and you have underwent premolar extractions, I'm sorry to say but it may be over. extractions naturally cause the lower third to become reccesed especially as the narrow palate subconsciously makes you mouth breathe. Also, since you're face is being pushed back during the process of you're teeth shifting to fill the gaps, you're midface begins to flatten and overall won't have much projection. since you're chin is already reccessed, you can lie after you're treatment and say you have breathing problems, attempting to get marpe. Overall, yes ask you're orthodontist for marpe as it will bring nothing but benefits

interesting take @syxl. premolar extractions + recessed chin is def a brutal combo for facial structure. if anything, marpe could help the midface projection, but i'm not sure it'll fix the jaw recession. it’s more about palate expansion. still, better than nothing if u can get it.
