I just received my sleep study results after finishing MARPE.
My AHI has gone from 6.5 -> 3, my RDI has gone from 20 -> 13
This is really good news for you niggas who have mild sleep apnea and are seeking a MARPE. (I still think it's not the best route, you should still get DJS with a segmental if you're narrow).
On the topic of DJS, please make sure you fraud your sleep study to where you're guaranteeing a AHI or RDI of 15+. I'm retarded and didn't secure the bag entirely, and it doesn't help that I took mk677 the day I took the study.
Otherwise insurance will be difficult and deny your ass immediately.
Thankfully I have brutal ass asymmetries that will still make me a candidate for a LF1/segmental, but I need to figure out how I'll get coverage for mandible advancement. Because they only insure it if you're moderate-severe OSA patient on paper
also my snoring went from 78% to 20%.
TLDR:
- MARPE on paper helped with apnea
- I still have symptoms that only DJS will resolve (you should get DJS not marpe)
- I'm so brutally asymmetric that I'll likely still get coverage
I'm now open to questions again about MARPE. It's 90% cope but I realized it could actually work for some of y'all
