i play football and after every single play i’m gasping for air because i can’t get enough air through my nose, i talked to my parents about this and they said to ask my dentist and ortho (i have normal braces rn 6/12 months) and they both told me that it would just get better over time but i have had this issue my entire life playing sports and it has never changed, also i yawn like every second it’s crazy all my coaches are thinking im tired and lazy but i genuinely cant control it, what should i do to convince my parents that my narrow palate is the issue.

go to one of these guys in your country:https://www.getexpanded.org/ and ask for a bone anchored expander.HAS to be anchored to the bone to fix breathing issues

i dont think youll have much luck talking to a orthodontist. you HAVE to go to a orthotropist whos focused on airway

not many in my country, i looked on their website and they said they do it so ill ask, only problem is i dont know if ill qualify, i have a hard time measuring my palate, cant do proper tongue posture without choking so i think i have small palate but need to check

bite down on the paper hard until you leave a mark and measure between the red lines at the bottom

tell them you cant breathe and youll most likely get a expander
