Can someone tell me if I need MARPE or MSE? I’ve recently started getting interested in upper jaw issues because my sleep hasn’t been the best. The right side of my jaw has started clicking, and I think I might be developing TMJ.
P.S. Ignore the temporary filling. 🙂

mse if under 16, marpe if above, consider getting bite blocks whenever u get one of the 2 palate expanders, helps counter the cw rotation marpe and mse give, turns it into 0 cw rotation changed before and after instead of 2mm+ of change, game changer

bro 2 weeks ago i went to the dentist and after my appointment i asked, if my palate is narrow, i said that my tongue doesn’t feel comfortable and all she said is that, my arch is somewhat narrow, but she told me that that’s a development thing, she mentioned maybe i mouth breathed when i was a kid. And thats that, i was extremely disappointed, she didn’t mention no expander, nothing, maybe i need to go to the orthodontist? But i live in Lithuania where finding a doctor that does marpes or mse is hard. Idk what to do, this really messing with my brain alot, especially when i sleep, like my tongue doesn’t not feel comfortable, and then i clech my jaw, its a mess. :(

I can’t really help finding u a doctor there, i dont live there, but u feeling uncomfortable, clenching ur jaw, and ur tongue barely fitting, these are all signs of a narrow palate, u should just find the correct doctor to be able to offer u a palate expander

I think you are misunderstanding, its marpe if under 16 and mse if above since marpe is not bone borne so its more recommended for people below 16 since there is a chance of marpe still being able to split their maxilla. For people above the force from the marpe mostly struggles with splitting the maxilla which is why mse is used which is bone borne

its not even a question if your palate is narrow or not, even a normal citizen can tell that something is wrong with it idk what the fuck that bitchass doctor was on saying she wasnt "sure" and no you are already above development stage so she is spouting bullshit there as well. Would recommend getting mse not marpe. You and your orthodontics can try but for people at your age mse is mostly used to marpe and dont get bite blocks but bite turbos. You can pair mse with a headgear if your maxilla is recessed as well, dont really expect that much forward growth but tiny bit is still better than nothing and try to not get a headgear with chin rest since it will give you cw rotation and push your mandible back.

my main reason why i want to expand my upper jaw, is for better tongue posture, better nose breathing, and that aesthetic 8 tooth smile, but the thing is, is that like i said where i live their aren’t really doctors who to marpe/mse for adults,a guy on this forum posted a link to, getexpanded.org, and in my country theres only 1 result, idk this situation is particularly frustrating because, either you have to find private orthodontic.Ive heard that headgear can push your mandible back, but ive never seen headgear without chin rest, thats interesting.

no you NEED palate expander, just imagine it like probably breathing in 4k compared to your current breathing through nose and those wont give you all the aesthetic benefits palate expander would give. Palate expander would give you better canthal tilt better under eye support and more prominent cheekbones especially with your case since it seems to be so narrow

yes its true that headgear with chinrest can push your mandible back and give your mandible cw rotation. I would suggest finding a private orthodontics and asking if you can have something like a crane headgear thats mse supported. I dont really know how yall dont got orthodontics who do mse or marpe there that much but just go around and try to find one because there is no way there is only a single place that does mse or marpe in the whole country, maybe ask your parents if they know something about it. So overal you'll need mse and mse supported crane headgear with bite turbos if needed.

Im going to talk to a doctor, on june 2nd about my sleeping and breathing, what can i do, but i think whats gonna happen is that they gonna say, that i need to fix my circadian rhythm, maybe exhaust yourself in a gym, and call it a day, atleast thats what my mom told me, im pretty sure the doctor is gonna say the same, which is frustrating, because if i did exercise, i would need better breathing,im not breathing through my mouth, not happening, so my plan is to find a orthodontist who does mse/marpe, and on the 2nd of june say to the doctor how it is, that i clench my jaw when i sleep and during the day, that i have trouble breathing properly, and during the day and during sleep. And maybe then maybe i can get my jaw expanded.🤞

do they even know what circadian rhythm is lmao? And if the doctor says the same thing what your mom did then thats just straight up bullshit. Even some randoms who just started to know about "looksmaxxing" can see that you have a narrow palate just from a single pic so there is no way the doctor doesnt notices your narrow palate. Hopefully you'll find a doctor with brain that gives you your mse and mse supported crane headgear man gl's to you

The thing made me confused is that, i told the dentist that im having trouble sleeping, that the only way for me to fall asleep is by breathing through my mouth during the night, because of my narrow upper jaw, because my tongue doesn’t fit and i have scalloped tongue.and she told me, “you probably need to see airway doctor, not a destist or a ortho” bruh, either they are ignorant, or just think that marpe/mse is only for younger people,I really hope for an answer on the 2nd.🤞

Yeah thats just untrue. Ortho's take care of palate expander and stuff related to the jaw and facial bones mostly. I guess they think too simple minded for example you struggle with "breathing" and can only sleep while breathing from your mouth and they link it with airway doctor so they say go to airway doctor but in no situation should a doctor be that uneducated or ignorant. Dont really know if the doctors were high but yeah its just not it. Marpe and both mse can be done for older people, marpe mostly being used on younger people and which I would recommend if you are young but from 16 and above I would recommend mse instead. Mse is the "marpe for adults" to begin with, you cant give a kid a mse because thats just not needed. So they just either dumbass doctors or they just dont care, and a dentist "doctor" should know that some shit is up even just from looking at your teeth.

Went to the doc today, told her everything whats wrong, now i just need to go see the orthodontist,i just want to ask u, lets say my palate is 39mm give or take idk the real measurement, realistically i would go for 5/6mm expansion right?, because if u do more it messes up your harmony?

yes

expanding your palate too much can mess up your harmony but dont think that can happen since the expansion is planned beforehand
