Marriage was never the undying vow of faithful love people seem to believe it is.

Like majority of other social concepts, it was simply created as a political tool to manage (and upscale) power and influence across aristocrats.

Marriage wasn’t even legally allowed for classes below the aristocracy across Europe until the 1500s, even thought its existence predates that by thousands of years.

Then once the Industrial Revolution arrived and mass propaganda became a thing, it was used as a means to manipulate the actions of the masses, and was always used to manipulate men into becoming the ideal worker. Why do men attend their weddings in suits, the same clothing they attend to work to?

I’m not saying marriage is a bad thing, ignorance is bliss and whatever makes you the happiest is the path you should take. But you are delusional if you seriously believe that a ring and a vow is a symbol of a woman’s undying commitment to you, and not simply a political tool used to coerce you into becoming the ideal goy.
