Martial arts tier list (for streetfights)

Boxing and Wrestling are S tier

This is what retards dont understand.

A fight wont start with 2 dudes standing 3 meter away in poses it’ll start face to face which makes wrestling all the more useful.
most people here don't train in any martial art and if they do. It's usually bs like karate or TKD. Wrestling is VERY useful, getting slammed and thrown on street isn't a joke

Wrestling is dogshit for street fights son. The last thing you wanna do on the streets is end up on the ground and get your head stomped in by the friends of the dude you’re fighting against.
Realistically the average age on this forum is what 16? 90% of these fights would be in school where they would get broken up so yea Wrestling would be useful

wrestling is good to win a fight but the chance is high you get injured urself on hard ground, you get dirty and it kinda looks embarrassing.

kickboxing mogs imo.

i started my last street fights with punches and then kept going with low kicks until the guy could barely walk and then beat him up

Boxing is S tier for street fights. Rarely do I ever see wrestling in street fights. Stand up focused are much better
If you and your opponent are in the same height and weight range then yeah boxing is S tier. if there is a significant size difference it’s barely C tier.

D tier
Karate
Ju Jitsu

F tier

Thoughts?

Boxing and Muay Thai are S-tier, BJJ and wrestling are b-tier because of the risk associated with going to the floor, but without weapons it could save your ass. Ideally you want to end a fight within 2 seconds with a quick 1-2 suckerpunch, before your opponent pulls a weapon on you, in which case you are fucked anyways.

shit thread you should avoid getting on the ground at all cost on a street fight

you don't know what he have in his pockets or who his friends are

Agreed, aside from weapons, I would put Muay thai in S over or with wrestling because it mostly focuses on power shots with all limbs which is needed to definitively end fights, plus the diversity of ranges from all limbs and even incorporating some hits/trips from clinch which is a type of standing grappling.

The best strat is:

1) avoid getting into those situations
2) de-escalation (calming aggressors, clearing miscommunications quickly, being cooperative)
3) calling cops / backing away / running away
4) using gun or weapon for self-defense

only under life or death situation or protecting others should you resort to MMA.

if you do MMA, keep it standing (no wrestling or BJJ):

1) boxing (more emphasis on defense because all it takes is 1 punch to get knocked out / die)
2) judo takedowns which put the opponent on the ground while you are standing (osoto gari / osoto otoshi will end the fight because their head will crack on pavement)
3) illegal MMA rules (crotch kicks / eye pokes / strangulation)
