Randomized controlled trial, the gold standard of determining cause and effect, published in a prestigious medical journal, shows no benefit to wearing a mask vs not.
Almost 5,000 people were randomized to mask wearing vs not and the infection rate was only 0.3% difference and not statistically significant which means the difference couldn't be ruled as just pure chance. Incredibly low effect size, non statistical significance in wearing masks.

That's exactly what the study says: if you are infectious and you spew droplets your mask will not catch enough to stop you from spreading it. Your mask does nothing to protect other people. If you had read it, you would know that instead of being a smart ass.
