Without it being cope, I think it's safe to say reproduction as a physiological need is solved by masturbation or even having wet dreams in the case of guys on permanent nofap.
Having sex itself is more in the love and belonging and esteem tiers, IMO. Obviously missing out on this is still a great source of misery and is something missing that makes one feel disinclined to seek self-actualization while missing out on regular sex/LTRs/etc.
