Now first we need to assume you are at a reasonable body fat percentage and not obese alright.
So in this thread I'll talk a bit more in depth about masseter hypertrophy on perceived facial attractiveness.
My main point of thought here will be : Does masseter hypertrophy (aka chewmaxxing whatever...) bloat your face or does it cause a better "jawline" and facial definition
The thing here is this is a pretty complicated subject. For some people masseter hypertrophy is just terrible and descends you nto heavily but makes you look kind of uncanny like the user @Scottrg in his thread of masseter reduction via botox injection (diy btw props to this low inhib bvll) https://looksmax.org/threads/update-on-masseters-botox.1318847/
An on the other side of the coin with have an ascension from the user @GoodLookingAthlete in his thread "Jawmaxxing transformation" https://looksmax.org/threads/my-jaw-maxxing-transformation.1239402/
He grew his masseters via exercises with some "jaw exerciser" he found on aliexpress (it's basically some soft but firm plastic device you place between your incisors and chew on it for as he said "15-20 mins per day".
Now as you can see @GoodLookingAthlete 's jaw which was mildly narrow grew in width so that the gonions, well the part where the gonions are located is at the same width as the top of his head (approximatively) and gives him a way better square shape to his face rather than the ( ) shape his head had before.
On the other hand it seems that @Scottrg had gone on a "chewing marathon" as our beloved Dr. Mike Mew would say and as you can see the masseters grew so much that his face ended up looking uncanny like you can see in the pictures.
After the botox injections, his cheekbones are now visible and in the right lighting he has the "hollow cheeks" effect.
This is to be regarded as a pretty good ascension.
Now we come to the part where I add my own experience into this.
I have chewed hard gum for the "jaw gains" but haven't really seen anything convincing.
One thing that I have noticed tho is that my right masseter is bigger than my left one, this makes my jaw look wider on the right side and my cheekbone is less prominent.
Now on the left masseter, that is smaller, my cheekbone visibility is much better and in the right lighting i notice that my left side has a much better "hollow cheek" and defined look than the right side.
Now if we look at bruxism patients (insane masseter hypertrophy) we can see a little detail :
the naso-labial folds are a bit less visible (lifefuel for odlcels)
Now I know that this is not enough evidence but it's something to note if you have a particular face structure (it's also hard to find photos of them with a neutral expression because these motherfuckers are always so happy to have gotten rid of their ogre masseters)
As you can see if you research a bit, most bruxism patients look better post operation.
This can lead us to a semi-conclusion.
Masseter hypertrophy is good to a certain extent, like any time exercising muscles, do not overdo it.
You do not want to look like a roided nw4 ogre when going to the gym as you don't want to look bloated when training your masseters.
Overdoing it will make you look like a bruxism patient or @Scottrg pre injection.
Training your masseters is not necessary to look better. This is heavily dependent on your face shape before the training.
If you're already square and sharp there is no need to, but if you have more of an oval shape, it could be worth trying.
Now I don't think you should chew hard gums for 5 hours a day to get a nice healthy strong jaw, that is overboard.
But more so you need to cut out the slave food and focus on eating stuff that is tougher, less processed and more chewy.
Some examples would be :
-Carrots (+good for beta carotene [skin])
-any types of meat be it raw or well done or "saignant"
-Nuts
-Apples
etc..
Masseter is not a solution or at least not a universal one, you need to tailor your chewing habits to your aesthetical needs (face shape and cheekbone etc..)
For Scott it was not a good solution while for GoodlookingA it was ideal, make a diagnosis for yourself and advise regarding your own personal situation.
TLDR: KILL YOURSELF
Hope some people found this useful, make sure to comment what I could do better, thank you.
