I’m a bit conflicted about why people are so upset about advertisers. Plenty of users watch YouTube and get free content because of ads the same principle applies here and .is

I’ve heard that even VIP users still see ads on .is though that’s a separate issue. But if you don’t want ads on YouTube, you pay for YouTube Premium. There are also ad blockers and browsers like Brave.

So I don’t really understand why there’s such a big fuss over it. The reality is that advertisers are needed to keep forums running, and also so the owner can actually sustain the platform financially while moderating it.

And to be fair, Master has been running and moderating this forum for around seven years, essentially supporting it out of his own income for a long time.

I hope that Master hasn’t made a mistake and signed up for some kind of affiliate link deal kek which I’ve heard may have happened in the past. I’m not sure if I’m even allowed to say that, but that information was semi-public.

Regardless, even if that’s not the case, if he’s selling ad space, which is what I’ve advised people in charge of forum finances before, then it doesn’t depend on clicks anyway. The point is he still gets paid because ads are being displayed on the platform.

I mean, it's their individual choice. You see ads everywhere. You see them on porn sites, you see them on YouTube. It is your individual choice if you click on them.

And it's a casino. If you get scammed, well, casinos are known for being sketchy, but I would assume, since Master isn't the only one dealing with financing this and .is forum, I would assume the people that he has in charge are checking that stuff out, and if not, they need to be fired, but they won't be, regardless.
