That’s exactly why I’m asking. What’s causing the bump on my nose? I thought recession could be the reason but may be not. Also when I smile it give the allusion of it pointing downward because of the bump. Could it just be genetic?

Its bone and cartilage, so its possible it can move. Im not sure and dont have much expertise on this topic but think that could happen, especially in your case

pretty sure nose shape is genetic you can have a good maxilla projection no over bite and it could still be big you can look into this thread it may help

pretty sure nose shape is genetic you can have a good maxilla projection no over bite and it could still be big you can look into this thread it may help

Preciate it, yeah I’m on isotret rn def helped the nose shrink in width from the front, just was a bit confused on the hump and downturn on smiling so ig from what I’ve been told my maxilla is good and it’s just genetics that make the nose have a bump and turn down when I smile. Only way to fix that part is either rhino or filler for the hump which is way easier to fix rather than recession because my maxilla is fine.
