Hello, just interested if my maxilla recessed or just flat and also what is the best and actually real (not theoretically only) method to fix it at best? I heard of Lefort1, Lefort1 high, some sort of Lefort 3, fillers, implants, etc but I want to know which method both most efficient and at least possible to perform when the bite is right. Also, I’m not sure but I suspect I have a camouflage bite (idk if possible without braces but I suppose my lower jaw some how fitted upper one but indeed I could have either cross or underbite so I guess normal bite isn’t valid measurement here).
P.S. idk if my measurements right but I guess my nosolobial angle = 102 degrees and nosofrontal angle = 135 degrees

good post. its much easier to see if you have an projected maxilla if you send a picture of your side profile. also, lefort 1 is for lower jaw, and lefort 3 is for deformed people. if you are serious about getting surgery for your maxillary bone you should look into double jaw/bimax surgery or lefort 2.

Sure, here is clear side profile pic:

Also, idk but judging by images lefort 1 is actually upper jaw surgery, a cut of right under nose base. Also, I heard lefort 2 is least frequently performed of them all soo idk but suppose it’s even hardest to find someone who will agree to perform it for aesthetics only

No your maxilla is fine but your lower jaw needs intervention aka bimax

yeah my bad, lefort 1 is upper jaw. but lefort 1 is often for people with an under bite, where the upper jaw is sunken in comparison to the lower jaw.

lefort 1; the maxilla is brought forward because of the underbite. this is meant to fix an underbite, see picture under

when it comes to aesthetics lefort 2 is clearly better.
lefort 1 only fixes the bone that runs over the upper teeth which is only a part of the maxilla.
lefort 2 targets the whole maxilla: which means the nasal bone, and areas under the eye sockets.

the maxilla. as you see the maxilla and lefort 2 are basically the same thing.
Now to the plot
No, you do not have a completly flat maxilla, but there are signs of recession. if you want to make it more projected i would say bimax is your best option. bimax or double jaw surgery makes both the lower and upper jaw more projected. (taking only lefort will make your upper jaw forward not your lower).

Bimax
Your chin is also alittle recessed which the bimax will help with.
Lastly: I am not qualified to give any tips on anything like this. please consult an orthopedist.

Yeah, there are 2 things sus me most:
1. Sometimes moving my lower jaw forward make it feels much more rested then in bite position
2. I have dental filings in each 8, 7, 6 and 5th teeth and they crashes every 1-2 years independently of how I treat them

Though 2 things makes me suspect my lower jaw indeed developed more than the upper one (and saying that my lower one is objectively not the best one so I guess indeed it’s an upper one recessed) but somehow they naturally developed camouflage bite together and my lower one in a wrong position right now.

P.S. sorry for bad writing, English isn’t my native language but hope everything is understandable

That’s why I’m thinking of lefort or some similar surgery, I guess moving maxilla forward can help solve those issues without lip lift and infras if there is an option to move bone under the eye, not only below the nose base alone, I guess it’s lefort 1 high or zygomatic surgery?
